Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how UltiBudget (“we,” “us”) handles information for the UltiBudget iOS app and our website (the “Service”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1) Summary (Plain English)

No account, no tracking, no ads.

Your budgeting data lives on your device and/or your personal iCloud. We do not host or back it up.

We don’t collect contact info (no email, phone, Apple ID from the app).

Sharing via CloudKit is currently disabled.
-
If we reintroduce UltiBudget+ (paid features), billing is via Apple; we don’t see payment data.
2) What We Process
App data (budgeting content)

Stored: on your device and/or your iCloud account (if enabled in iOS settings).

Access: We generally cannot access this data. We don’t run servers that store it.
Device permissions you can control

Camera / Photo Library: to scan/attach receipt images (on-device OCR).

Notifications (optional): to remind you about budgets/entries.

We do not access: contacts, calendars, precise location, microphone, or health data.
Website data

We may receive basic server logs (e.g., IP address, user-agent, pages visited) strictly for security/operational needs.

We do not use ad tech, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking. Any cookies used are strictly necessary (e.g., load balancing).
Support communications (optional)

If you email us, we process your email address and message to reply and keep records.
3) How We Use Information

Operate the app on your device (local processing, receipt OCR, categorization).

Operate the website (security, preventing abuse).

Support (respond to messages you send us).

Future paid features: If UltiBudget+ returns, Apple will handle purchase flow; we still won’t store billing data.
4) What We Don’t Do

No selling of personal data.

No sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising.

No third-party advertising SDKs in the app.

No building marketing profiles from your budgeting data.
5) Sharing & Disclosure
We don’t disclose your budgeting data because we don’t host it. We may disclose limited information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the Service (e.g., fraud/abuse of the website). If you email us, your message may be processed by standard email providers.
6) Sync, Sharing, and Cloud

CloudKit Sharing: Temporarily unavailable. If reintroduced, you will control who can access shared workspaces and can revoke access at any time.

iCloud & Apple: Your data in iCloud is governed by your Apple/iCloud settings and Apple’s terms. Apple may process/transfer data to operate iCloud.
7) Data Security

App data benefits from iOS and iCloud security controls (e.g., device encryption, Secure Enclave, Face/Touch ID where available).

Because we don’t host your budgeting data, we cannot restore it if you lose device/iCloud access. Export and back up regularly.
8) Retention

App data: remains on your device/iCloud until you delete it (e.g., delete items, remove iCloud data, or uninstall the app).

Support emails: retained as long as needed for support/compliance, then deleted or anonymized.

Website logs: kept briefly for security/ops and then deleted or anonymized.
9) Your Choices & Controls

Manage permissions (camera/photos/notifications) in iOS Settings.

Manage iCloud usage in iOS Settings > your Apple ID > iCloud.

Export your data from the app (e.g., CSV) to keep your own backups.

Delete app data on-device/iCloud or uninstall the app to remove local data.

Contact us to request deletion of support emails you’ve sent.
10) Children
The Service is for users 13+ (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
11) International Users
We do not host your budgeting data. If you enable iCloud, Apple may process/transfer data per its global infrastructure and your settings. Website/server logs may be processed where our hosting infrastructure operates.
12) Legal Bases (EEA/UK only)
Where applicable law requires a legal basis:

App operations: necessary for the Service you request, largely on-device.

Website security/ops & support emails: legitimate interests (security, responding to you).

Future paid features: necessary to perform a contract (handled by Apple).
13) Your Rights
Depending on your region (e.g., EEA/UK, certain U.S. states): access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction/objection. Because we do not maintain user accounts or host your budgeting data, many rights requests do not apply to that app data. You can exercise control directly on your device/iCloud. For support emails or website data requests, email support@ultibudget.com.

CPRA (California): we do not sell or share personal information as defined by CPRA and have no cross-context behavioral advertising.

Verification: we may ask for minimal info to verify a rights request related to support emails or website logs.
14) Payments (UltiBudget+ may return)
If paid features return, Apple (StoreKit) will process payments and related personal data. We do not receive full payment instrument details. Purchases, cancellations, and refunds are handled per Apple policies.
15) Third Parties We Rely On

Apple (iOS, iCloud, App Store, on-device OCR APIs).

Email & hosting providers for our support inbox and website.
We do not embed third-party advertising SDKs in the app.
16) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. Because we don’t collect contact details from the app, we can’t notify you directly. The “Effective Date” will change, and updates will appear in-app and on our website. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
